Zanaco recorded their first win in CAF Confederation Cup group A against CS Sfaxien of Tunisia on Sunday afternoon which ended 1-0.

Boyd Musonda’s goal in the 31st minute was enough for Zanaco to carry the 3 points.

Head Coach Kelvin Kaindu says the team created a lot of chances and could have done better.

“We created a lot of chances and would have scored many goals. We have done better than in the previous games today and that helped us.

Kaindu also adds that todays win is a boost going back into the local league.

“It gives us hope with the few games that we have before the end of the season. It is still open and we can finish in top four.”

The bankers were eliminated from the competition last Sunday when they hosted Ahly Tripoli from Libya who beat them 2-0 at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

Zanaco’s win today was enough to eliminate Sfaxien from the competition.

Pyramids from Egypt and Ahly Tripoli have advanced to the next round.

Zanaco’s last match is on 3rd April against Pyramids FC in Egypt.
