As part of its commitment to giving back to the communities, Zanaco Football Club donated footballs to Mulambwa Primary School and Secondary School during a courtesy call while the team continues its pre-season camp in Mongu.

The four footballs were presented by Team Manager Bestone Chambeshi Jr, who represented the club. Zanaco FC is currently using the Mulambwa School grounds for its pre-season training ahead of the new season.

Receiving the donation, Mulambwa Secondary School Head Teacher Inambao Mututa expressed his appreciation to the club for the thoughtful gesture.

“The school appreciates this gesture, and we pray that Zanaco Football Club continues with such initiatives. This is good for the development of football in all areas of the country,” he said.

Mulambwa Primary School Head Teacher Febby Mukoka also thanked the club, revealing that the school had gone a long time without footballs, forcing football activities to come to a standstill.

“This donation will revive football at our school. We are truly grateful to Zanaco Football Club for remembering us and supporting our learners,” she said.

Speaking on behalf of the club, Chambeshi  reaffirmed Zanaco FC’s commitment to supporting grassroots football and the communities that host the team.

He noted that the club has already seen the impact of investing in local talent, citing Brian Kabikawho was identified during Zanaco FC’s pre-season tournament in Mongu last year. Kabika has since developed into one of the club’s regular first-team players.

“We will continue giving back to the communities that support us through initiatives like this. Our pre-season tournament in Mongu produced Brian Kabika, who has gone on to become a regular first-team player. That shows the talent that exists here, and we will continue creating opportunities for more young players to be discovered,” Chambeshi said.

The school’s sports teachers also commended the donation, encouraging the club to extend its support by providing additional training equipment such as cones and bibs to further enhance football development at the school.

The donation also complements Zanaco FC’s wider commitment to grassroots football development. Several pupils from the school recently participated in the Zanaco Grassroots Soccer Tournament held in Lusaka, demonstrating the growing football potential within the area.

Through initiatives such as these, Zanaco Football Club continues to strengthen its relationship with local communities while contributing to the growth and development of football across Zambia.
