Zanaco Football Club Technical Director Emmaunel Muniale says Young Zanaco’s performance in the 2021/22 Lusaka Province Division One League season was average.

“Generally their performance was average, as you know the reason we have Young Zanaco is not for them to gain promotion but they are a nursery for the senior team.’’

Young Zanaco Football Club finished eighth on the log in the Lusaka Province Division One League; they are joint on 51 points with Airport Warriors from 34 games. Winning 14, drawing 9 and losing 11 matches scoring 32, conceding 26 goals.

Munaile says three players from the junior team have been identified and will be promoted to the senior team.
“Young Zanaco has been able to produce good players that have been sold to different teams and some of them are playing abroad so we want to continue with the same policy of promoting two or more players from the junior team to the senior team at the end of every season.

Last season the team produced centre back Christopher Muhango who was consistently involved in most of the league and CAF matches for the senior team as well as striker Martin Daka.

Munaile says Christopher M’hango’s adaptation to the Super League was amazing.

“It is gratifying to see young boys breaking through the ranks and M’hango is the future. He’s got the power and we will keep on making him work hard so that he can command a permanent position in the team and there is room for improvement he is a young man and still has a lot to learn.

Young Zanaco will this season again campaign in the Provincial League.
