Zanaco FC head coach Mumamba Numba is confident his side will collect maximum points when they face Nkwazi in a Lusaka derby scheduled for tomorrow at Edwin Imboela Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Numba said victory is crucial after his team dropped points in their previous fixture against Zesco United. He noted that a win would propel Zanaco into the top four of the Zambia Premier League standings.

The Zanaco coach added that his players have been training hard in preparation for the derby and are fully focused on recording a positive result.

However, Numba cautioned against underestimating the opposition, despite Nkwazi currently sitting at the bottom of the league table.

“Our aim is to collect maximum points. It will not be an easy task, but I believe we have the ammunition to go there, fight, and collect maximum points,” Numba said.

Going into the fixture, the Edwin Imboela-based side occupies 15th position with 18 points, while Zanaco sit fifth with 31 points.

Meanwhile, the two sides shared the spoils in the first round of the season after playing out a 1–1 draw at Sunset Stadium.

Finally, Numba thanked Zanaco supporters for their continued support and encouraged them to turn up in numbers for tomorrow’s match.

“Having them in this local derby will be a big morale booster,” he acknowledged.
