Zanaco FC and malawi national team striker Chawanangwa Kaonga was named as 2023 Hollywodbets COSAFA Cup Player of the Tournament despite his side coming out fourth after losin 5-3 to ournament host South Africa in a penalty shootout at King Zwelithin Stadium in Durban on Sunday.
Kaonga was also named in the best XI team of the tournament following his fine performances at the tournament and was was very instrumental in the Flames’ campaign that saw his team reaching the semis at the regional tourney for the first time since 2003.
At this year’s tournament, Kaonga contributed 3 goals one assist and won two man of the match awards and he has started in all games.
Meanwhile, Sensational attacker Abraham Siankombo picked up a winner’s medal as Chipolopolo successfully defended their COSAFA title after edging Lesotho 1-0 in the final’on’Sunday.
