Zanaco Football Club host Binga FC of Mali this Sunday at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka in a CAF Confederation Cup pre-group stage first leg match.

The Bankers were demoted to the CAF Confederation Cup after they were ejected from the CAF Champions League in October.

Zanaco have returned to the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time since in the 2019/20 season when they made their quarterfinal debut in continental competition.

Midfielder Kelvin Kapumbu says they are looking forward to the challenge of playing a team that is making its continental debut.

“We are shaping up well for this Sunday’s fixture. We are ready and we want to win. Our main focus now is playing Binga and making it through to the group stage then from there aim to reach the finals,” Kapumbu said.

Kapumbu added that morale is high following last Sunday’s 1-0 home win over Kafue Celtic.

“The previous games we have played have been part of the preparations and winning against Celtic is a boost for us,” Kapumbu said.

The final leg against Binga is slated for 5th December away at Stade Modibo Keita Stadium Bamako.
