Zanaco defender Issac Shamujompa is excited to be back in continental action when the 2021/2022 CAF Champions League kicks off next month.
Shamujompa returns to continental action for the second time in his career after participating in the CAF Confederation Cup with his former team Buildcon in 2019.
“I am looking forward to returning to continental football so that I can gain more experience considering the fact that i only had a short stint, ” Shamujompa said.
Shamujompa is confident that Zanaco will do well in both continental and local league.
“With the setup and atmosphere I have found in training I think will do great,and will go further because we have a team that is coming up well, ” he said.
Zanaco will be away in the first leg, preliminary round match of the CAF Champions League against Equatorial Guinea’s Akonangui on September 12 in Ebebiyin.
