Zanaco Bank Plc has today officially handed over a new team bus to Zanaco Football Club at Sunset stadium in Lusaka, reinforcing the bank’s long-standing sponsorship and commitment to the growth of local football.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Zanaco Bank Plc Chief Executive Officer Mukwandi Chibesakunda said the acquisition of the bus went beyond the provision of an asset, describing it as a strategic investment in operational efficiency, player welfare and professionalism.

“This bus is both a practical tool and a symbol of our confidence in the team’s continued upward trajectory. It reflects our enduring partnership with Zanaco Football Club and our commitment to excellence in Zambian football.” Mrs. Chibesakunda said.

She commended the team for its strong performance in the 2025/2026 MTN FAZ Super League, where Zanaco FC currently sits fifth on the table with 42 points, and encouraged the players to maintain focus, resilience and consistency as they push for a stronger finish.

Mrs Chibesakunda also highlighted football’s growing role as an economic driver across Africa, citing increased revenues, employment creation and community development linked to the sport, particularly through major competitions and domestic leagues.

Receiving the bus on behalf of the club, Zanaco FC Board Chairperson David Musunga described the gesture as a major boost to the club’s operational capacity and long-term ambitions.

He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to strengthening club structures and challenged the players and technical team to uphold discipline, dedication and excellence in return for the continued support.
