Zanaco Football Club has announced the signing of Numba Mumamba as the senior men’s team head coach and his assistant Coach, Noel Mwandila. Both coaches are coming from Kabwe Warriors.
Noel Mwandila and Dabid Chilufya will support Numba as assistant coaches. The three have signed contracts for two and a half years.
Numba is a renowned former player and coach for Zanaco who successfully guided Zanaco FC to the premier league title in 2016. He has demonstrated his tactical brilliance and unwavering dedication by winning the premier league four times, twice as an assistant coach and twice as head coach with Zanaco and Zesco United. He has also won the Charity Shield Trophy Twice and the ABSA/Barclays Cup once.
At the unveiling press briefing this morning at Sunset Stadium, Zanaco FC CEO Mr. Modest Hamalabbi said that the team needed these changes to the men’s technical bench.
“As you know, the team faced challenges in the first round of this season, and we recognize the need for a fresh approach, which is why we have appointed Coach Numba and Coach Noel. This is a significant step we have taken in the growth and success of Zanaco Football Club, and we remain hopeful that things will turn around. We believe the coaches will bring value to the team.’’
Coach Numba said he was happy to return home and will work hard to help the team regain its winning formula.
“It is a big challenge that I have decided to take, and I know I am equal to the task. I have seen how the team has been performing lately, and it is the defense we need to work on. We have been scoring, but our defense has been bad, and if we improve on that, then we will be good.’’
Numba’s first game will be this Saturday against Forest Rangers in Ndola.
