The 2021/2022 Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Women’s Lusaka Province League started on 18th December 2021 and Zanaco FC Ladies played their first match of the season against Kings Sports Academy who they beat 1-0 at Twashuka Grounds in Kanyama,Lusaka.
Head Coach Florence Mwila was happy with her team starting the league on a good note.
I am happy with the start of the league and we have won our first game which is a good thing.
Mwila adds that winning the first game of the season is a confidence booster to the girls.
Winning today is a plus. The girls have improved very much compared to last season.
She also said that the team’s target this season is to win the league and gain promotion to the Super Division.
Our aim last season was to finish in top 10 despite joining the league at a later stage and when we were just building. This season we want to finish on top of the table which we are capable of doing.
Defender Deborah Nyamulongas 83rd minute goal was enough to ensure that Zanaco collected maximum points.
