Zanaco Ladies FC assistant coach Sarah Chungu says the team is showing signs of improvement in its debut league season of existence.
The newly formed Zanaco Ladies FC campaigns in the FAZ Lusaka Province League where they current sit at number 10 on 19 points from 18 games played with three matches in hand.
“The start was rough but they have improved very much. Our start in the league was rough because we had to form a team and use some players who had stopped playing football a long time ago,”Chungu said.
Zanaco have so far recorded five wins, four draws and nine losses.
Chungu says the technical bench is working hard to attain their objective of a top four finish.
“We have done our homework and figured out what we needed to do. We have to reinforce the team in the goalkeeping department, defence and striking force,” Chungu said.
“We are happy that we are on 10th position but we are not comfortable. We are working forward to finding ourselves in the top four.”
Zanaco are to action on July 17 away to Zambia National Service Women’s Team in a Week 22 fixture.
