The FAZ/MTN Super League and National Division One will resume in July under closed doors after a three-month halt due to the Corona Virus pandemic.
Meanwhile, SuperSport who are the official broadcasters of the Zambian top-flight are yet to outline plans to offer viewers the chance to watch all matches live.
The Republican President, His Excellence Edgar Chagwa Lungu said in a statement on Thursday.
Part of the statement reads;
“..For football at Premier and National Division One Leagues will resume action in July 2020 with strict observance of health guidelines.
The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and and Child Development and the Ministry of Local Givernment would be inspecting sports arenas to ensure they are ready for action..” Reads the statement.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is expected to give guidance on when teams should start with their preparations in readiness for the restart of the league and announce match dates.
The Zambia League will be one of Africa’s top tier leagues to resume action after the pandemic paralysed all major sporting competitions around the world last March with Tanzania and Burundi’s Super Leagues already back in action with spectators.
