Zanaco Football Club centre-back Kevin Owusu donated to Home Of Happiness For People with Disabilities in Lusaka on 25th April 2020.

The Ghanaian donated various goods worth K5,000.00 that included 25kg bags of mealie-meal, toiletries, 5 liter containers of cooking oil plus drinks and snacks.

The orphanage is home to 72 people who are all disabled.

Benerdate Mindeo, Founder of the Orphanage, thanked Kevin Owusu for the gesture.

“Thank you for the gesture that you’ve shown unto us. You have come at the right time when the world is fighting a serious pandemic (Coronavirus) but you went out of your way to help us,” Mindeo said.

Owusu said he decided to give back to the community because of the support he has been receiving from the community in Zambia.

“I decided to give back to the community and this is the only way I could do it. I had to share the little I had to the less privileged,”Owusu said.

Owusu also said that it’s neither the first nor the last time he was doing such a thing.

“I’ve been doing this for quite a while and I plan on continuing with it whenever I have something to share with the less privileged,” he said.

Zanaco FC players and staff have taken the break from competitive football to raise awareness about stopping the spread of Covid19 and other charitable acts within their respective communities.
